Mundanity Monday

I missed a couple of days shooting B&W last week, but resumed half way through, so a couple of extra ones here this week.

Last Saturday we treated ourselves to rib eye steak. I’m crap at cooking steak in spite of religiously following Gorgon Ramsey’s video. 😦

on Sunday Sophie and I had a camera outing to the Rising Sun country park, (report to come on the universe blog).

Washed my hair on Monday

Went to work on Tuesday morning

Checked out the Christmas lights on Wednesday

Bought some flowers on Thursday

a coal~tit visited on Friday

Frego & I got new camera’s on Saturday πŸ™‚

Sophie and I went out on Sunday

I know there’s not meant to be people in them but it’s my project so I can break the rules if I want πŸ˜€

  1. What did you do with the XT-1?

I rarely eat steak. To be honest, I find it boring, and I like it too well done to appreciate it properly. Julie loves a ribeye though. The best way to cook it is on one of these. https://www.wellindal.co.uk/home/tefal/p-250990?r=3168430226906&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIic7qx6vf1wIVzLDtCh1Jww6MEAQYBCABEgKs4vD_BwE
We have a Tefal one like this, but it was cheaper from Amazon. The previous one lasted for more than seven years, and was used for bacon, lamb steaks, and anything ‘meaty’.

You may well have one of course, so I apologise for lecturing if you do. πŸ™‚

    Frego! Hurrah!

    Best wishes, Pete.

    1. Cheers Pete, no I don’t have one so will check that out thanks! Yes Frego came over to do a photo shoot, when she’s finished no doubt I’ll be made to post the pics 😊 the XT1 is still with me, I need it for formatting the memory card as I haven’t worked out how to do it in the 2 yet! πŸ™„πŸ˜‚

  2. On my Fujis, it is the last page option in the menu pages, and comes up as ‘Format’. I clear the card every time I use it, once the photos are backed up on my portable hard drive.
Those non-stick griddle pans are great. Just use minimal oil, lots of heat, and they virtually wipe clean after use. They do bacon better than anything I have ever used, and they are perfect for steak too. You need at least a 26 cm pan, the heavier the better. Not cheap to buy, but price per year of use is a no-brainer. x

    1. Already ordered one 28cm Β£16.99 Amazon 84% 5⭐️ reviews 😊 off to the butchers at the weekend! Yes on the T1 it’s the same as yours but damned if I can find it on the 2. Time to RTFM! ( read the f@£€ing manual!) πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

      1. Honestly, I cannot praise them enough, Used every week here in Beetley, and Camden before that. Just keep it lightly oiled before use, and don’t be afraid to get it VERY hot before use too. πŸ™‚
When washing up, use a non-abrasive sponge or cloth (and maybe soak it for a short while), and it will give you years of great service. x
