Woke up to this today!  We haven’t had proper snow up here for  7 years, so it was a bit of a shock.  The last time was bonkers

but I don’t think it’s going to last this time, it’s almost all gone now.  It was nice to see it, well at least I thought so, but most people don’t seem to like it.  Our country seems to have lost the ability to cope with snow, more than a day of it and schools, trains, the roads come to a standstill.  People don’t know, or haven’t been taught how to drive in it.  When I was growing up in Yorkshire every winter would have weeks of snow, I think they still get more of it there than anywhere else in England, and Scotland gets the main share of it being the Northest (yes it IS a word, it’s in Fraggles Dictionary) part of GB.  Ah well, icy roads in the morning will cause a bit of chaos, then slush and rain and then back to rainy normal winter.

Tomorrow night is the Camel Parade in South Shields which I did attend last year but only managed a few decent shots, you can see them HERE  but am (weather depending) going again tomorrow evening and hopefully this year will do  better, I managed not to get a decent shot of a camel last time. Or the drummers. And my fireworks were a bit dodgy 🙂  so fingers crossed for a better result.  At least now I know what to expect and get in position, there were a lot of pushy people getting in the way last time so I will need armour plating this time!

I was going to give y’all my thoughts on Trump’s latest fiasco, I mean, why is he having a pop at us??   WTF was all that about?  But I won’t, because really I can’t stop sniggering about the fact that he mistakenly sent his tweet to our Prime Minister initially to a lady called Theresa May Scrivener, who had 6 followers , then had to delete it and send it to our PM Theresa May.   Ms.Scrivener lives in Bognor Regis (how awful is that name for a place) a seaside town in the south of England, and of course now she is being interviewed by the press and now known as ‘the wrong Theresa May’.  (honestly I’m laughing whilst I’m writing this! 😀 ) Her responses to the interviewer from Associated Press are a joy,

“If I wanted to be famous, I would have gone on ‘X Factor,”  –  “It’s amazing to think that the world’s most powerful man managed to press the wrong button,” she said, adding, “I’m just glad he was not contacting me to say he was going to war with North Korea.”

Ah the mind boggles.  I keep thinking, what would you do if apropos to nothing in your life, you got a tweet from POTUS to say he was going to war with North Korea?

I wonder how many followers Ms.Scrivener has now .  He managed to increase Britain First’s followers by lots of thousands. I bet they’re over the moon.

I know it’s not funny really, but if you didn’t laugh sometimes, you’d face~palm yourself so hard you’d knock yourself out.   To cap it all, at the end of his tweet to the PM he says, “We are doing just fine!”  Yep, you’ve not long had the worst mass shooting, a Right Wing fracas where someone killed a girl by running her over, Tillerson is about to be dumped, your son in law is under investigation over your Russia collusion, and your people are even more diametrically and vitriolically opposed than our Leavers & Remoaners, yep, you’re doing fine Trumplestiltskin, doing fine. 🙄.   Whatever I think of our politicians, and it isn’t good thoughts people, not good at all, even our worst (Boris, Rees-Mogg, Davies, Gove I’m looking at you) are not in Trump’s league of stupidity , incompetence, and national self-harm.  But close enough.

So that’s me not giving my thoughts on Trump’s latest fiasco. 🤪

  1. Those pics of the snow coming down are so pretty Fraggle! I love snow, but not the shoveling!😒

    As far as Trump goes, the general consensus is he’s really losing it. I mean, he’s already exhibited several instances of instability, but this was NUTS even for him. And did you hear his Press Secretary’s response to reporters questions? Sarah Huckabee Sanders responded that it doesn’t matter where the videos came from or even if they’re accurate. The President was rightly pointing out how terrible “Radical Islamic Extremism “ is. 🤦🏻‍♀️

    1. I hope it is the general consensus because he’ll be truly stimied after the 2yr thingy you all have like Obama was! I’m lucky to have mostly American & Canadian followers on my blog, and have also visited both, albeit too briefly. What a load of beautiful scenery and amazingly kind and lovely people I met along the way. What’s happening to America is as distressing to me as what’s happening in my own country. I find it all so hard to bear. Bear is a bonkers word because of, well, bears! But bare is the only alternative and that’s just wrong.

      1. Do you have any idea how many of us are wishing right now there wasn’t a two term limit so Obama could have run again? But then on the other hand I’m not only scared that he’ll be re-elected in 2020 unless the Democrats get their act together, but in 2024, if his disgusting diet doesn’t kill him, he’ll find some way of overturning the two term limit. I know that sounds crazy, but honestly, nothing surprises me anymore.😒

        I know Britain is having problems right now with Brexit and terrorism, and I’m so sorry. It’s truly a scary world we live in right now. You need a teddy bear to hang on to. I have two, Philbin and Madeleine and I know it sounds nuts, but they bring me comfort.😊

      3. I’m also so sorry for what your country is goint through Fraggle! It’s just horrible! I have to agree with you Kim about wishing Obama would come back! I can’t stand Trump sitting there calling Democrats Obstructionists and what’s insane is that he quoted to Wall Street and other places that he was independent and republicans are too far right and such. He’s insane.

    2. I agree Kim! He is freakin insane!!!They have proved those videos to be unreliable and some fake and/or old. He is sick for even posting them and incredibly racist!!! It is completely sick that we have to have such a CRAZY asshat as a president. He is simply deflecting because he will soon be charged with treason hopefully!

  2. I was wondering about why Trump chose to give publicity to a pro-Nazi group with a handful of followers, and no influence. Now they have had his ‘blessing’ who knows how many people will want to join? I despair, I really do…

    As I watched that, I was also watching similar snow outside of our windows. By the time I went out with Ollie, it was a blizzard! (Post to follow) Fortunately, it hasn’t settled here either.

    I quite like Bognor Regis, the place and the name. 🙂 The name could have been that of some old duffer who might be have been found wandering around wearing his Boer War medals, and looking a bit like Jonesey from ‘Dad’s Army’. 🙂 Mr B Regis, of Nuneaton, Warwickshire, or similar.
    Perhaps I should change my name? Then my blog would be called ‘BeetleyBognor’.

    (I think I’m light-headed, and I haven’t even had any wine…)

    1. I will revise my opinion of Bognor Regis, and apologise to the good people of that land in light of your comment. 😊 look forward to your (positive in 2017) missive regarding the blizzard 😂. My advice to you is never to read Thursday Thoughts without having imbibed at least two glasses of your favourite vino delecto 🥂

  3. Oh, for some snow and rain and foul weather! I am sick of balmy, sticky, hot, and icky weather!

  4. Let us hope we get a white Christmas that would really be cool (erm, pun intended I guess 😂).
    As for Trump, that guy really is getting more crazy by the minute it seems. It would be funny, if it wasn’t so scary at the same time as well 😢

  5. It did snow more when we were younger didn’t it? I remember it that way too. I have to admit I’m still a little over cautious driving in snow, buses often overtake me 🙂 too long living in the snow free state of Jersey.
    Pie has a great rant about Trump and offers a real solution for May. Tell Trump were to go, sod the special relationship and trade deals and in one hit she would increase her popularity ten fold with the British public. In fact thinking about it, I hope she doesn’t, I want Labour in power next time round.

  7. I am so out of it I didnt hear that about Trumps tweet…the 2010 snow was something else, was trapped in the house for 10 days…traumatised me….we didnt have snow here this week, well nothing that stayed but god its cold…

  8. I admire your restraint with not giving your thoughts on Trump. Your discipline is mind blowing! 😉 Thank you for the laugh. I did not know about the wrong Teresa May. I’m a bit obsessed with with the news, always hoping that some scandal will come out that will help take him out of office… but unfortunately, I’m not hopeful that we will be able to right our course any time soon…
