Coming towards the end of the third week of this bloody cold/cough and I’ve seriously had enough! We should rename this Plague central :/. No proper sleep from coughing most of the past 4 nights and I’m running on empty. OK enough of the woe is me.
Yesterday we dosed ourselves up as we had tickets to go and see our favourite band at the Sage in Gateshead. No we should not really have gone with being so ill, but we had paid for VIP tickets which involved going to see the band do their soundcheck in the afternoon, and a meet and mingle in the bar after the gig. We had not been to the Sage before and it is an amazing space inside, with just excellent sound quality. The day was everything we hoped it would be, apart from me having a 15 minute coughing fit in the ladies loo before (thankfully) the main concert, which ruined my make-up and had me shaking and hot at the end of it. I recovered during the support act, and then Thunder came on and for a couple of hours all was forgotten as we got lost in the experience.
Am dying today of course.
A couple of pictures from the evening
My shot of the day is a diptych of the Sage
Today I’ve been cooking dinners for Phil to take to work as he’s on nights this weekend and they don’t have a night canteen for staff anymore, (see austerity, Tory bastards)
Chilli Con Carne & Spaghetti Bolognese, my cooking is better than the canteen anyway! ๐
I got that ‘flu back yesterday. I have been in bed most of today, just emerging for Ollie’s walk. Coughing so hard it makes my head spin!
Glad you managed to enjoy the gig. I would have chickened out, and stayed home. ๐
Best wishes, Pete.

One, I’m sorry you are still suffering the plague. (Did you do something in a former life for which you need to repent?!) Two, those B&Ws are great – all of them! Three, for someone at death’s door, you do mighty fine work. Meanwhile, keep getting better. ๐

I think I did plenty enough in this life to repent for! Will make sure I’m a good girl next time round!

Oh no, Fraggle… something so wonderful spoiled by being ill. Ugh, I know those coughing fits and how drained they leave you. Horsefeathers — you really are a trooper. The photos are marvelous despite it all. I really like that one inside the building that shows all the shapes of the structure.
Do whatever it takes to get some good sleep. It’s hugely important to getting well.
Hugs on the wing.
