Oh such a lovely sunny day today, but Thursdays are chore days at Fraggle Towers. Much hoovering, washing, cleaning, baking and floor mopping going on.
But always a few moments to find some light and shade
can’t resist some colour because my blossom tree is laden with flowers and it’s too pretty not to share.
The blossom tree is known here as the Happy Eater tree, and regular readers will know I have feeding stations for the birds hung in its branches. Though I had a niger seed holder on it for a few years I only saw goldfinches once on it. This quite annoys me as I see a few flitting around where we live and can’t see what their problem is, none of the spuggies, tits, blackbirds etc have a problem and are constantly visiting. So I moved the niger feeder to the back garden and it’s hung there now for two years, and though the finches fly over my garden, they’ve resolutely ignored it.
Until yesterday evening.
TA DA!!
Not the greatest picture, I was hiding behind blinds and shooting through a window plus it was sundown time, but I was so excited to see them up close. At last. Fingers crossed for a return visit!
The cherry blossoms and goldfinches are gorgeous in their own right, and nice shots too… but the mop bucket and the kitchen…that’s you. Love ’em.

Excellent shadows Fraggy. I giggle when ever u talk about the birdies, seems ive known you for centuries and that tree as well:). Itβs amazing how different our birds are, our finches wonβt be here fir another few months . But Iβll b sure to post when they get here . Dave wants humming bird feeders this year.. so with any luck I can share them as well, although do hold me to that, they are fast little buggers:)
I loved your birdie shots !!! Ok go finish cleaning and cooking . I gotta get done lunch in me, just got home from the dentist:(

Thanks Kathy, I was amazed at the ‘robin’ we saw in the cemetary when I came over. I wish we had humming birds, maybe when global warming gets worse they’ll come here. π€£

The use of the mop wringer was inspirational. That’s a top shot, FR, it really is!
Best wishes, Pete.

Thanks Pete, I don’t need the wringer as I’ve got one of those push me pull you mops now, but keep it on the bucket and take it off when mopping the floor, don’t know why I keep it π, got lucky when I spotted the shadow.

The mop wringer wins, but that loaf of bread could easily sway my decision π
Still waiting for colour here, but the days are warming and frost is retreating, so only a matter of time.
We only seem to get blue tits here on the feeder on the terrace, maybe the other birds are shy or don’t like fat balls. Your finches are great.

Sexypants, it’s a testament to your photographically artistic skill that you can make the top of a mop bucket look so fab .
And that blossom…sigh. How gorgeous xxx
