I used to quite like a drop of ‘mother’s ruin’. Not so sure about oriental spices in it though. I preferred Bombay Sapphire with a nice Scweppes tonic. π
Best wishes, Pete.
Dear God szechuan peppers really?! I’m trying Eddy’s cucumber and black pepper tonight and have to say it is rather scrumptious. Will put your recipe on the list!
Got a little box of botanicals for gin at xmas – containing sachets of: szechuan peppers (my favourite); pink peppers; cardomon pods; and juniper berries. Have also had one with a sprig of toasted rosemary from a pop-up pizza oven place, which was rather nice.
Gin?…. well to each her own I guess :). Great photo though

It’s not gin as I remember it, it’s quite spicey/herby. Very nice. Look out for it in Walgreens π€£π€£π€£

It is definitely gin! Just the last time I had it was in the Jurassic era, and I don’t remember it being so nice! π€£

My tonic is also Schweppes π I like the sapphire too, but this has a smokey oriental edge.

Try with a slice of cucumber, ice, tonic and fresh ground black pepper, you will be pleasantly surprised (I hope) π A perfect summer drink.

Cheers Eddy this gin has black pepper in it so that might be overkill! I’ll try the cucumber this evening as I happen to have one in the fridge π

I’m in love with the place, I imagine you would go back again? I see Bagpuss made the journey, in good company with the other cats π

Oh yes! I do like that shot. Have you tried gin with angostura bitters and some szechuan peppers or a cinnamon stick?
