Had a good day out in Northumberland with Sophie today. We visited Aln Valley Railway, which had a 40’s theme going on, and Low Newton-By-The-Sea and saw a heron. The best bit of the 40’s thing was hearing these lovely ladies do the old Andrews Sisters & Glenn Miller songs, they were great!
Day 188

Such a good capture.

What a fun experience – and the expressions are great. The music from then is so nostalgic, even for us not from that era. I grew up listening to that stuff. Hard to imagine what life was like for civilians or soldiers, on either side of the war zone.

It was a strange juxtaposition, steam trains and 40’s war reenactors. π³
