Friday Film Shots

where eclecticnessicity abounds.
Yesterday I had to take my car in for servicing, and took the SX70 with me to take some pictures on the walk home.
Another little wander around the estate, with the SX-70 and the latest colour polaroid film, Autumn picking up now.
I took delivery of new polaroid films this week, the Impossible project has now bought out the Polaroid company, and has reverted to t he original name. They’ve also released a new camera, and improved the film. It used to take 35-40 minutes for the Impossible film to develop, but with the new film it’s only 15 minutes. It was a sunny morning here, so after doing the chores I went for a wander with the SX70 loaded with a new film. 10 minutes later and the sky clouded over and on came the rain, sigh, so home I came with only 3 shots.
The graffiti bridge
regular readers will recognised The Tree from my 366 last year,
and some dangly branches on the turn to Autumn, just before it rained.
It rained, it stopped, it rained, it stopped, ad infinitum.
I cooked egg fried rice for the weekend, and (soft focus 🙂 ) enchilada’s for dinner
did the housework, did the washing, and so
roll on the weekend!
Sad I can’t use the Rolleiflext until I can get it into Newcastle for a fix, but I still have the polaroid SX-70 to play with. Hit and miss on focus as always but it never seems to matter. I will call them soft~focus rather than blurry as f*@k 🙂
Still waiting for my roll of film from the rollei to come back, patience is not my thing really! So back to the SX70 for today though really there isn’t enough light with the ongoing cloud and rainy stuff. Supposed to be better tomorrow so hopefully out with the Fuji and my pal Sophie.
Anyway here’s a couple from the shed and the garden
and Happy Celebrations to my Canadian pals, it’s 150 years since they got a country!
I took my SX-70 with me to Poland, and took a few at Eddy’s house.
Some flowers again, can’t resist, 🙂
Red roses from Phil for our anniversary
and some white and pink ones I bought for the house
eventually the weather will warm up and I can take my rollei out on it’s inauguration walk but I’m not feeling it at the minute, too cold and Spring seems to have taken a reverse course here at the minute.
Ugh I am struggling with the Lightroom-smugmug interface today, so have taken a break to shoot some polaroids, just around the house, back to the struggle after :/.
My herby garden is coming along nicely, I nearly killed the coriander but rescued it just in time,
My mums plant is firing up some very red shoots, another back from the dead plant 🙂
and I replaced the chrysanthemums from the other week with some gorgeous pink lily’s, must shoot them in colour 🙂
and finally, now for some ‘proper’ Friday film shots to come. I really like shooting film, and I’ve been dicking about with a holga and the lubitel, but the lubitel is not flexible enough for me, it only goes up to 1/500 shutter speed and the focusing screen is dire, especially for someone who needs varyfocals. So here is a proper jobby.
I’ve already started practicing, and am using a light meter to (hopefully) get the settings right, but it’s going to be a steep learning curve. The history of the camera is quite fascinating and I’ll probably do a Fraggle Report about it at some point over on Across The Universe . Anyways, back to the struggle..
Today started off grim but this afternoon the wind blew all the clouds away and left behind some blue skies and sunshine. I’ve been chasing patches of light around the house with my polaroids and still taking shots of the cherry blossom tree before all t he petals are gone.
